Unless specified in a specific
pay agreement, this is a general guide on the different types of engagement:
Day Shoot:
Commonly called between the hours of 7am and 10pm.
A day shoot could be called earlier than 7am but this would typically attract an additional payment for every half hour before 7am.
Generally, if a day shoot continues beyond 10pm, overtime will be paid per half hour.
Night Shoot:
Any shoot with a call time after midnight and before 6am. Night shoots are paid on time and half of a day shoot. Artistes need to be made aware ahead of filming if night shoots are planned.
The minimum turnaround between consecutive calls (“Daily Rest”) is 11 consecutive hours. If less than 11 hours of rest are provided between consecutive shoot days, this will attract an additional overtime payment.
Rehearsal:
Normally paid as per the basic daily rate.
Costume fitting:
Unless specified in the agreement, normally paid at a half-day or full day rate basic shoot fee rate.
Spilt day:
This is a shoot called later in the day, for example, a mid-morning calltime and evening wrap. This assignment wouldn't attract additional payment unless it went beyond 10pm. However artistes need to be made aware ahead of filming.
Continuous working day:
This is a day where no given meal breaks are given, these normally are based on a 7 hour working period and then overtime.
